DUCKDUCKGO SEARCH AND STORIES

Soon after the NSA leaks by Edward Snowden there came to light a search engine Duckduckgo.com in spite of Google Search being there.

The reason : Google search engine collects and saves your search history the date and time of search! On the other hand duckduckgo does not!! DuckDuckGo does not save search history, date and time of the search, information about your computer (such as your IP address, or unique identifiers stored in browser cookies) or log-in data for other services (such as names and e-mail addresses).

They have an android app too.

Just like Google search bar this app too has a search bar widget for your homescreen.

  • When you search via duckduckgo app you are anonymous.
  • They don’t track us, nor do they filter bubble us.
  • Get top stories inside the app. Stories selected on basis of which are actually the top ones and not based upon your recent searches
  • Auto-complete to answers instead of just searches.
  • Readability view with search suggestions that tie Search & Stories together.
